Sub questions.

What size subs would be good to use for rock/metal music with the really mean double bass rolls? Also what are good brands/models to use?

Re: Sub questions.

and the good ones are: rockford, some dual speakers arent bad, go to www.alumapro.com they have very nice ones. i had 2 12 duals and i sold them and connected a 1 10 inch sub of alumapro ( called bp-4) and it bumped better then both of the duals combined due to how they are very high qualitys

Re: Sub questions.

yea alpine isnt bad either, some are pretty expensive though. if you want to save room though and still get a very loud bump, search for slim subwoofers. they are LOUUD and still dont waste as much room as others.

Re: Sub questions.

125-150 a sub. And both. want the impact and clarity for the double bass of metal music but the deep, hard bass of rap music.

Re: Sub questions.

I have 1 Rockford T1 12 in my Camaro and its powered by a kicker zx750.1 amp. Its louder than most 2 12s people have if you put it in a 1.25-1.5 CUFT sealed box it will be loud very clean and will stay in control in fast double bass. There about 250 a piece but that's the same price that you would pay for 2 subs at 125 a piece and they are absolutely worth every penny, Rockfords quality are among the best available and love there products.

Re: Sub questions.

I have a friend who has a Rockford p3 shallow in the Rockford brand box and it sounds great for what is it and would work great on the "hump" in our cars. I don't know how it would sound in a third gen though his is in a regular cab truck.

Remember the proper box will make or break your subs. It can make great subs sound like shat or average subs sound fantastic. Make sure the box FITS the specs of the subs.

Under $100

In your price range

All these subs are inexpensive and have been in world championship cars. You don't need to spend large to have great bass.

WAYYY over your price range but probably the best sub on the planet.
