iPhone 4 compatible head unit

I had been thinking about hardwiring an iPhone/USB charger so I wouldn't have to use the cigarette lighter for charging. However I realized that I have all my music on my iPhone 4 so I might as well get a head unit that is compatible with my phone, that way I can charge it and playback music. One thing I really don't like is seeing wires out in the open. I've been noticing that most head units that have an iPhone/iPod hookup, do so with a jack on the front of the deck. To me that's not acceptable, I'm looking for a head unit that has the iPod hookup in a remote location or through the rear of the deck. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Re: iPhone 4 compatible head unit

There are tons of units that do it. Any unit that requires a "harness" will be using the rear of the deck for connections.

They also make units that allow you to put the iPod inside the head unit. Here's an example of one such unit: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158DSXS...0.html?tp=5684

OP never asked about those features. OP wanted a HU that would connect to an iPhone/iPod without a front connection.

A good majority of the digital media decks support the iPhone now. I have a Alpine IDA-X300 series deck and it interfaces with my iPhone 4s perfectly fine.

Re: iPhone 4 compatible head unit

I put a Kenwood KDC BT952 in mine and stream off my iPhone via bluetooth.

The flat black bezel and face looks slick and clean in the car as well.
