First off, make sure your getting a good connection between the antenna and the radio. Maybe the plug on the back of the radio is lose, or there is a partial break in the cable. If everything is ok, there are antenna signal boosters you can buy. Don't know how well the work tho.

Ant. boosters work okay as long as your antenna cable and antenna are in decent shape. But sometimes you'll get interference because it will pick up close-by stations from cities or towns that share the same frequency as your local station. It will pick them up very weakly, but just enough to cause static and annoy you.But this is not too common of a problem, but it can and does occur in certain places. they do pick up stations pretty good and clear up static. But first make sure all your connections are good and you cable is okay.

I agree with Justin. 2/3 of my thirdgens have had bad antennas, and on my way to work today my last one seemed to pick up absolutely nothing (although it was fine on saturday???). Replacing the antenna is somewhat time consuming, but pretty easy (unless it's a power antenna). They are also really cheap.

My car has always had crappy reception compared to any other car. I tried a $20 Antenna booster from Radio Shack, and it did nothing!! I just listen to a lotta CD's

I also get significantly worse reception in my Camaro than in my wife's car. I might try a new antenna... What about the antenna cable? Does that go bad often, or is it just part of the antenna when you buy a new one?
And what about dual antennas? Would that help?

The antenna comes with the cable, and unless your radio is set up for dual antennas, you will not benefit from two, in fact it will likely hurt the reception.

replacing the antenna is good, but it sucks replacing the mast.
the idiot that had my car before me cut the antenna wire and wrapped it around the stock radio antenna. with an antenna adapter, some soder and electrical tape i was able to repair it untill i got the guts to take off my 1/4 panel to replace the mast.

heh, no, to replace the antenna you just unscrew the old one and screw the new one on.
the antenna mast is the base that bolts onto the car and then teh antenna screws onto that.

My radio in my 89 GTA would only pick up one radio station most of the time. I checked the antenna and cable and all was good. I replaced the radio with a new CD player and that took care of it.

My power antenna no longer works (hasn't work since I bought the car...it's limp). You can move it up and down by hand. Could I replace it with a non-power mast? What's my options?
