Weird Delco/Alpine hybrid 1.5 DIN deck?

Having trouble finding out more info about this deck. Has GM radio ***** and GM style screen/face. Never seen this before and a search of the model number turns up nothing. Also has a GM style radio plug but looks very after market in the way the plug is made.

looks like something meant for the dealer to install-I once found a similar delco style CD player, but the one I had (still have it somewhere actually)was made in 1991 by Panasonic. The alpine one you have looks about the same era and a neat find-you will probably never see another like it...

Yeah, definitely looks like a factory upgrade... like a new Monsoon system or something like that from back in the day.

Guessing that radio is from 88-90 or so.

Pulled it out of a late 80s cavalier z24 vert in the bone yard. All wires were soldered nicely into the harness. One of the cleanest wiring I have seen done on a radio install.

if you said sunbird convertible it would have made sense to me to be original to that, but the pontiac lights are weird. alot of the convertibles in the 80's were done by a chassis conversion company

Problem is the Sunbird dash wont accept a 1.5 din.

And the original Sunbird dash predates this deck

Re: Weird Delco/Alpine hybrid 1.5 DIN deck?

i do remember that now. i looked up a you tube vid on cav convertable z24 restoration, 89 i think it was and the radio he showed looked like a normal delphi 1.5din. so dont know. it would make the most sense to me that the car was one of the ones done by a aftermarket company and they speced those out from alpine.
