Anyone heard of this brand

I've got a 92-stock, going to put a new system in it and was looking at using the NVX brand that www.sonicelectronix.com sells. I done some research but don't know of anyone who has their products. Does anyone know how they sound in these cars. I'm going to use their vcw 10" sub, v series 6x9's and 4"s in the dash along with their 900.1 5 chanel amp. Also, is there anywhere to mount these amps once the rear plastic is removed-not sacrificing the spare tire well?

Re: Anyone heard of this brand

Never heard of NVX but they look like a generic built unit.

You could put the amps in place of the rear glove box, on top of the gas tank on a small stand (or screwed/velcro to the carpet) or on top of the sub box.

I'd recommend not commenting if you don't know.

Op- nvx is sonic electronix house brand. They are ok, but generally priced to high for what it is. If that's your budget, any of the maxxonics stuff will be more competitive.

Hmm...so they are a generic built unit.

Thanks for confirming what I said.

Don't care what you "recommend".

Re: Anyone heard of this brand

I've bought plenty of things from Sonic but didn't know that was a "house" brand. I ctually called NVX corporate and talked to them. They're and indepent brand all their own, but Sonic is one of their major distributors from what they told me. I guess Fosgate would be comprable. However I was looking at the Hertz brand also for the interior speakers, any thoughts on those. For the sub and amp I will go with the NVX, based on the numbers and specs, as well as the price is affordable. I'm going to use NVX's 900.5, 5 chanel amp and their vcx 10" sub which is the mid grade.

I run Hertz HSK 165HL's in the kickpanel and in the rear behind the sail panels. I love them. I run them off of a Fosgate T600-4 Amplifier.

Re: Anyone heard of this brand

Where did you mount your amp? I'd like to see picks of that. Do you have a sub also on a seperate amp? Where did you get those kick plate panels? Also did you make that sail panel piece?

Re: Anyone heard of this brand

I got a better deal since SonicElectronix is having their cyber week sale. I got the JBL p6462 ($59.99) 4x6 plates and the JBL P963 ($79.99) 6x9’s on a 2ohm scale. I got a better price on a better productsince they were on sale, they normally go for over $100 per pair. I am using the NVX amp though and sub. I’mgoing with a 5 channel because it provides the power, and stability, with asmall footprint which is easier to conceal. I don’t mount anything so that it is visible, such as an amp rack oranything. I also want to have my storage compartment, and the spare tire well availability alongwith the t-top storage, of course the trunk will be partial used for a custombox I will build. I can mount this underthe plastics without compromising thosethings. The amp is the JAD 900.5, here are the specs:

Channel(s)
Impedance
Claimed Output
Certified Results
Dynamic Results
4
4 Ω
70W @ 14.4v
95W @ 14.79v
93W @ 14.81v
4
2 Ω
115W @ 14.4v
158W @ 14.72v
163W @ 14.79v
Mono
4 Ω
220W @ 14.4v
302W @ 14.79v
320W @ 14.77v
Mono
2 Ω
440W @ 14.4v
462W @ 14.70v
526W @ 14.70v

The sub is the NVX WSW 104 also inthe 2 ohm scale. I’ll be able to dialthese in using the correct voltage and maximize the output on the sub channeland attenuate the gain for the other 4 channels to match the speaker rms powerhandling capability.

I went with the Sony MEX-GS810BHhead unit, it’s their top model. Sonyhas reinvented themselves, not the same “Explod” junk they’ve been putting outat Walmart. I was going to use top modelAlpine and after doing a lot of research, the Sony has so many features thatare usable for the average listener it makes it a better choice. The Alpine is extremely advanced. If you were performing in competition then Iwould gone with that one. I’m also usingthe NVX XKIT44 amp wiring kit, its true OFC (oxygen free copper) wiring whichis what you want to use and for the price it’s worth it.

I did not order on line, I calledand “negotiated” a deal. The JBL’s wereon sale and the head unit had a $50 gift card that I used at the time ofpurchase so those didn’t get discounted, however everything else did and it WASsubstantial. Ricky was my sales agentand he has a wealth of technical knowledge for install and tech support. Thenumber to call is 1-877-289-7664, Ricky’s extension is 2561. Here’s a tip, they’re all on commission, so Ihad a plan when I called. They all wantsales to return to them so they will “give” to get. They don’t rush you, nut numbers are numbersso the more calls they take the more money they can make. So if you’re able to extend your call in sucha manner as to make it difficult for them to answer out to others, they knowwhen you’re doing this, they may even assist you to get the sale at that point, then use the power of persuasion to steer the sale in your direction. Just a helpful hint.

Re: Anyone heard of this brand

U will prolly have to space the driverside up front highs/mids in the dash cuz theres not alot of depth there u could also so cut up the dash and defrost vent work a lil bit and make it work.... most aftermarket 4x6's mount to deep with the magnets on the driverside so they need spaced or the dash needs cut to make em work.... im using a component system for the up fronts on custom mount plates and my tweeters are mounted on the pillars facing the back of the car and the driverside has a lil more spacing on the mount the the passengerside hope that helpd a lil when u go to put it all in the car cant wait to see it finished

Re: Anyone heard of this brand

Cutting the dash is something I really don't want to do if I can help it. Are you saying I'll have to cut the portion below where it lays up top to get a deeper recess to accommodate the depth of the plate? I guess a dremel tool will work?

Re: Anyone heard of this brand

Yes most aftermarket 4x6's and plates have a bigger magnet then stock alpine and pioneer makes some that fit like stock...... u can cut it out are fab a mount for the plates to space it out some that might give u the room u need thats what im goin to do is make a mount for my 4' woofers that will give it the right space on the driverside the passengerside has room they should fit right in.... im going with a component system with crossovers and my tweeters will be mounted on my pillars... hope this helps man
