Front Speakers stopped working

I swapped the aftermarket Front speakers out for a OEM set. But they will not work. The previous owner cut the GM connectors, so i connected the old ones back. I used a diagram so i know that the wires are connected correctly, and i know that the speakers work because i tested them. My rear speakers work.

Re: Front Speakers stopped working

Maybe the head unit decided to die all of a sudden. Ive had that happen to me twice with passenger side speakers completely going out and rear speakers the second time with no warning. Id start there if you happen to have a spare head unit you could test with.

Ok, I will try that tomorrow. I just had 84TA fix some problems with my head unit. Its a UT4 so I hope nothing is wrong with it.

Re: Front Speakers stopped working

Their is a speaker wire junction behind the radio for all the speakers, you may have unplugged them when you put the radio back in.It happened to me
This isn't my pic,but those wire junctions are in this area.

Re: Front Speakers stopped working

I just tried swapping out the units, but still no luck. everything is also plugged into the back of the radio, I do not see any junction. also the fronts stopped working after i swapped the aftermarket ones out. this car has so many electrical problems.

Re: Front Speakers stopped working

Yea,I think just the cars with UQ7 system have that.I had taken a pic of that for future reference but I bought a new Computer Tower and the tech didn't download half my pics.
I'm glad you found the problem.

Re: Front Speakers stopped working

I now have a fully working uq7 system, sounds good, seems to have too much power though. like too much bass if i turn it up, is that normal?
