Well, what am I supposed to do? He asked a generic question and he got a generic answer. If he asks something more specific, I'd be more than happy to answer that accordingly.

Yes you can. There are several available, the stock bose kicks and q-forms. I would recommend custom built units if you can afford it.

Ok Jim85IROC now that the first question is knocked down on to number 2. How will I do this and would it be better to take it to a sterio shop? Oh and I have PW and PL so how hard does that make it?

PW and PL don't have much of anything to do with your kick panels. That stuff is in your doors
There are different ways to make custom kicks, but none that are really all that easy. I made a couple of step-by-step posts while I was making mine, so you may want to do a search to see if they're still here. I made wooden rings to hold the speakers, and positioned them with plumber's strapping, screws and glue. Once I had them as I wanted them, I bought some fiberglass resin and soaked some shirt-type rags in the resin, then put it over the framed rings and let it dry. Then I smoothed it out with a ton of body filler. After that, I sanded like a madman to shape it, painted them, then put the carpet on.

My bad. I really didnt mean "kick pannels" like you are talking about. I meant more along the line of the speakers in the door. Like maybe a 4x6 or somethin. Thanks!

oh. Door speakers are basically out of the question if you have power windows because you'll have to build out the door the full depth of the speaker. If you've got cranks, you can fit them in pretty easily. I haven't found a significant increase in imaging or staging by putting coax speakers in the door vs. the dash, but if you used separates and put the tweets into the kick panels, then you will begin to notice a nice soundstage.

Sorry but I think you're wrong. I went to this sterio shop today and got my 6x9 speakers and asked them if they could do the door speakers and they said they have done it before on a 91 z28 with power everything. So for $100 I cant have speaker spots in my door. Havent decided on the speakers I want to put there. Thanks for the help though!

Have you ever had your door panel off? If not, please do so. Look at the lower front of the door. The power window motor is there. It can't be moved without major reconstruction to the window system. That being said, the only way to put speakers there is to put them IN FRONT of the motor, which means building out the door panel to the full thickness of the driver.

Hey I dont know who is right here, you or the guys that are gonna do it. All I know is I asked them if it could be done and all of them said "sure, it will have to be put in the front part of the door." The guy said he did it to his GM truck a while back and put fiberglass over it. Are they BSing me or can they actually do it? He said it would be about $100 to do. Thanks!

Trucks are diffrent the 3rd gens. They have much bigger doors. If you have power windows, there is no way you can flush mount speakers in the front lower portion of the door.
