I was wondering what the bose system consisted of in a 86 IROC??The location of the speakers,I know there were some in the trunk,any others,is it a good system??How many spakers are in it,I am about to get an 86 IROC with it and I plan on putting in a CD player.

As far as I know, no such thing exists. There is an "extended range" sound system option in the '86 IROCs, but it is nothing to call home about. There is a badge on the dash that indicates this option.

I had the BOSE stereo in my 88 IROC. It consisted of two speakers in the trunk and two down on the kick panels. They just look like boxes up front, but put your ear up to them and you'll see they are not. BOSE makes very good equipment. Their stereo's are custom made for the application in auto's. The only problem is that over time (14 yrs) the speakers will crack around the cone. At least mine did when they were about 10 yrs old.

Ive got the "extended range" sound system in my 86. The speakers are 4 by 6 on the dash and 6 by 9, around head level on each side of the rear seats. I dont know where they put the on the convertible, if thats what you have.
