Wiring up a few more speakers before amp install

I don't have my amps yet and I'm kinda low on cash, but I've got loads of extra speakers, cuase I take them outta all the cars I've owned, and I'd like to wire up two 6x4 speakers to my kicks two more speakers, the same size, behind the rear seats.

Can I just splice the wires, or should i do some kinda setup and junction for when I get my amps?

Got plenty of fiber glass resin, bondo and putty and boso wood hanging round too!

Now that I'm already posting, can I wire up a sub woofer before I install amps? I'd just like to fiddle with the one from the home theather.

Well since no one else answered, I'll give it a try. When you splice the wires you cut the ohm load in half for each new speaker. Ex. if you had a single speaker running at 4 ohms (as most are in cars) and you put another speaker on that line the ohm load to each speaker would be 2 ohms. Most HU's are not stable below 4 ohms, so you HU would run very hot and may cause damage. Another thing, why do you want to run four sets of speakers. I'm running one set as are a lot of people. When you throw in that many speakers the sound is comming from too many angles and you soundstage is EXTREMLY confusing.

And if you are thinking of putting a home theater sub in your car it won't work unless you have a AC/DC inverter, if you plan to use the amp at least. If you used the woofer itself than you will need to find it's ohm load and wire it accordingly.

Just get your amps man!
