Service Manual for 1991 Firebird shows Replacement Antenna
Pontiac Firebird 1991 with a broken antenna mast. The Service Manual in Section 9A-12 discusses replacing the Power Antenna Mast Section and it appears that General Motors at one time sold replacement masts. My Mast got bent and broken at a car wash but the drive cable appears to be intact. Can I reuse the drive cable and buy only the antenna? How is the Drive cable attached to the top section labeled "100 Rod assembly". I don't want to remove the antenna tube and motor assembly if I don't have to because those are located on the inner fender.

You may be able to by pulling the antenna out and weld a new one on while its out. It is stainless steel, so you would need to weld that material. The problem you may run into is you can't pull it out far enough, which would be the likely situation because you can't see the end under normal circumstances.
Here is a guy who can fix it for you if you end up having to take it out.
