I no longer do any radio repair or aux input work

I got rid of all the stuff I had to do such work quite a while ago. This message is to the members who need work done. I will however be glad to answer any questions about any issues you are having, just don't have all the things to hook up a car radio remote of the car anymore.

Re: I no longer do any radio repair or aux input work

Hello, I have a 1992 Trans Am with the factory CD player and eq. My unit also has an aux connector on the back, I assume for a CD changer, or what not. I am wanting to add a 3.5mm aux port utilizing that connector. Is it possible to do that and if so do you have a diagram I could use? Thanks in advance.

What made you quit, Red ?

I suspect that the Engine Control Module (ECM) in my 1988 Lincoln Mark VII LSC is bad (EEC IV system). When the ambient temp drops to approx 40* F, the fuel injectors do not receive a pulse signal.

Bad Caps are reportedly often the cause,

Question,

I opened up the ECM and visually inspected the electrolytic cap for leakage and or bulging, with negative results. Can caps go bad without visual clues ? Thanks

I'm not Red , but if this is an open question to anyone I can tell you with all certainty that yes , they absolutely can .

(To establish some cred for my answer I'll tell you that I restore vintage tube radios , so I'm well versed in capacitors and their failures)

Re: I no longer do any radio repair or aux input work

I just got this on ebay for my 89 IROC Vert, which has no radio. If it dosen't work, I will be watching some delco repair videos and getting out my soldering iron.

Re: I no longer do any radio repair or aux input work

This is for anyone willing to answer really. I have an 89 TTA. There is no sound from the back speakers, fronts sound like crap. Any ideas? I've tried to ohm test the speakers, but I didn't get a reading at all from the two factory speakers I pulled from the side panels to test

Thanks, any help is appreciated

Don't really have an answer for you but if you need to have your factory radio repaired I would highly suggest sending and email to barlosal@aol.com, he refurbishes factory delco radios and also can add an AUX cable to the unit at a very reasonable price. He fixed my head unit by replacing the internal components that needed replacing then added a 4 foot long AUX cord and had it back to me in about a week, totally worth what I paid.
