I tried posting this on parts for sale. But it wouldn’t let me.So I’m selling this high output alternator. It’s 350 amps, the problem I’m having is I can’t install it right on my 91 Camaro TPI. I tried everything, the bolt hole doesn’t even line up right. I paid 700 dollars for this thing. I want 200 plus shipping. Hopefully someone can figure out how to install this thing.
It looks like an AD230/AD244 style case. Do a search on AD244... a few of us have done that swap. Just minor mods to get it into a thirdgen serpentine setup.
If you call Mechman they sell one that fits our cars serpentine with either the plug or a one wire. I got the one wire 170 amp version.I have no stereo. They offer a 240 and 300 amps of the same unit. I paid alot less than what you did. Around 550.
That looks sweet! Did you have to drill a bigger hole in the alternator bracket? I assume so, so get a beefier bolt in there right?
No it takes all the stock hardware. It is stil an 8MM thread. Its an exact fit bolt sizes and all. Just the head looks big because it's a flanged bolt.
That’s a lot better than what I would have to do. I read another thread and someone had modified this type of alternator to fit. He basically had to make the one top hole of the alternator bracket a little bigger, to fit a 3/8 bolt through it. But than also had to use a different belt, slightly longer. In my opinion it’s just a whole lot more trouble. I prefer the direct bolt in. But if I can’t sell this thing, that’s the way I’m going to have to go. I get worried about the bracket snapping though. Especially even taking more metal out of it. I’m going to try installing it this weekend. I’ll take some pictures with the final install. Oh but one more thing, what would that single blue wire attach to?

If you could sell it I would. One of the companies I talked to wanted me to drill the hole to as well. I said basically no way. You are right you dont have much metal there to do that. With the mechman I went with the one wire which eliminates that whole plug on the back and it's just a wire to the battery. Can you post a picture of the blue wire?
Exactly man! Thinning out the metal even more with a heavier alternator scares me. I don’t need to be driving one day and than the alternator just goes flying out. Probably would cause so much damage in the engine bay. Yeah I’ll try putting it on Offer Up or something.
