2 ohm Mono

Is it safe to run any amp in 2 ohm mono. I just got a rockford 500.2 and was wondering if i could run it at 2 ohm mono. Would it harm the amp or just make it hotter. Also is it possible to wire to 4 ohm speakers to obtain a 4 ohm mono load

that fosgate will easily handle a 2 ohm mono load...

my friend is running 4 15's with his 800a2
