Need help!

Hi everybody, new account because I couldn't log into my old one. Just need someone to confirm this stereo deck will fit in my car. I have a 1982 camaro berlinetta with a Delco in it without cassette and eq. The deck works but was crackling like the speakers were blown. I brought it to my local audio shop, replaced the speakers but still had the same issue. The tech at the shop told me it's the deck causing the problem and told me to get a new one. I want to keep it era appropriate. Personally not a fan of new decks in old cars. So I've been online looking and i found this one. I was wondering if anyone can confirm it will fit and work? It looks like it's the same size, but I'm not sure.

thanks everybody

Re: Need help!

That radio will fit and can be installed in your console with no modifications to the console. It will use the same brackets and hardware as your existing Delco head unit.

Your 82 will have dash plugs that look like this:

That radio might be from a Cavalier or maybe a Celebrity,...... depending on the year it was pulled from it might require the 82-87 style plugs or it might require the 88-96 style plugs.

If your car still has the original radio plugs still intact than you can buy a plug-&-play adapter ( as shown in the pic above ) so you can install almost any 82-96 head unit into your car. If your original plugs have been cut-off at some point,... then you could just splice wheat-ever plugs you need to the dash harness. ** The antenna also changed from "big" to "small" plug in 88,... there is also an adapter available for that too if needed.
