I'm working on 3D printing a Double DIN radio bezel for Third-Gen Firebird. I anyone looking for one of these?

 

I would think most folks would like it if it looked nice and factory blended.... is that a term? But kinda like it could have come stock that way. I know the biggest thing for me is I don't like how aftermarket stereos stick out so visually, in these cars I like subtle. just one guys opinion though.

I printed a double din Bezel I don't have a firebird to do a complete install on but I know it matches a stock din and a half bezel. if course the piece would still need to be finish sanded and painted to match you interior.. Let me know if you if still interested we can work something out

 

I have a 3D printed double din bezel that I've been waiting to install. Still need to buy the head unit, but I was thinking of sanding it smooth/glossy and then taking very thin tape, spraying a matte black to match the factory pattern. I should order that head unit right now. Thinking of going with a Sony XAV5000. I like the look of it and it is an inexpensive option. What are you all using?

the bezel and top of the console is going to be a matt/black finish. the checker ones you see in the pic are factory 1.5DIN bezels

you can still see where the factory checkerboard finish was before wet sanding

 

Always hated the factory checker pattern so I sanded everything smooth and wrapped the parts in a Dark brushed steel..Brushed Aluminum vinyl wrap..looks amazing 😎

 

that really does look good, did you make the radio plate from the factory piece?

 

Yes...zoom in on the pic and you can see where I added pieces of ABS to make the Double Din dimension showing through the vinyl. I have since purchased a new, printed Double Din plate..I sanded and wrapped that one as well.

Are these bezels available for the '82-'84 models?...

 

Ill be machining them once material shows up. Machined from HDPE

 

So are you willing to make some for order? I'd like to get one if so!! For a 92
