Best sounding in car speakers?.....
What are the best--(clearest at high volumes, with some good bass)--speakers that will fit in the factory slots. I realize that subs would be the way to go, but I dont want everything to rattle and I dont want to buy dynomat for the whole car. Becides its all expensive anyways...I have the Sony Xploid 650 or something like that. What speakers would be best for what I want? I listen to both rock and rap, so......
Thanks for any imput you may have.....

There are a million good sounding speakers out there and everybody is going to have a different favorite. Bring some cds to a local stereo shop and listen for yourself. It's the only way to be sure you're getting what you want.

I personally like Infinity. I've got all Infinity speakers including my sub and I'm finally happy with my sound. Listen to a bunch of different speakers untill you find the ones you like cuz everyones ears are a little different.
alot depends on what you are willing to spend. Car audio really revolves around the saying "you get what you pay for." I also agree with Jim, go to a stereo shop and bring your cd's with you. They will be happy to let you sample anything in the store. But to give you a good starting point my favorites are:
1. Diamond audio
2. Digital designs (look for them on line)
3. Boston Acoustic
4. Crystal
5. Eclipse
6. Polk DB's or DX's
those are more or less in price order as well but it should give you a good start. Good luck

I don't remember exactly what mine cost, but I want to say that the 4x6's I have where like $70 (they were the cheapest available) and the 6x9's were around $190 or so (they are the Rally series). My 12" Pro series subs were $300 each.
They have a wide variety of speakers in a wide variety of price ranges. They produce basic, Rally, and Pro series speakers. The best thing to do would be look at their website, they have all of their products with suggested prices on there. www.bostonacoustics.com

If you can find them, I would try and get ahold of the factory Bose speakers out of 91-92 camaros. I had the Bose system and even with my Eclipse aftermarket radio they are loud and clean all the way up with no distortion. My car came with the front speakers in the kick panels and the rears in the folding hatch-well cover. When I went to add subs I just moved the Bose rears to the sail panel location (where most people put their 6x9's) and just added some Infinity plate speakers in the dash location and I couldn't be happier with my highs.

I have some of those T6969 Pioneer 4ways that I got for a good deal. They sound great and hold at high volume. The super tweeter really brings out those highs compared to other three way speakers. Go to best buy and listen there. You can really crank em' up and they don't care.

It depends on whether or not you will have subs, and also what type of music you like to listen to. I personally would not even bother to amp the highs if you only have a Legacy. Don't mean to offend anyone, but they are great for subs, but in order to maintain clarity, I would opt for either Autotek, Phoenix Gold, PPI, or Alpine to power your highs. Those are great amps and have crystal clear sound amplification. When it comes to amps for highs, you really get what you pay for. But if you're not looking for symphonic quality sound and some loud highs, use what you've got. I personally would use it amp a subwoofer or two. Just my $.02
