Replace OEM Radio/Casette

Hy Guys!
First post here....(I am, however very active on the silveradosierra.com forum.)

Just picked up a pristine 91 TA Vert, WS6, after being without a TA for 42 years. LOL!!!
The only thing I need to address is the radio/cassette player......It came with RPO code UM6. Problem is, I disposed of all my cassette tapes decades ago, so I would like to switch to AM/FM/CD player, because I want to keep the OEM look, and I have plenty of CDs...

Can anyone shoot me a picture of what will work, "plug and play," so I can go hunting on Ebay?

Thanks!

A 90s Pontiac cd/radio, 4thgen, Grand Prix, etc., should be plug-n-play into your 91, like the ones throughout the linked thread.

Re: Replace OEM Radio/Casette

I have Gran Prix radio in my 85. If you go this route, I recommend finding one with the 7-band equalizer. Sound quality seems better with this model. Of note, I have had a hard time finding a unit with a functioning CD player. I think I've tested three radios, with none working yet.

Just an FYI,...... I've got a couple fully functional 4th Gen CD/ EQ radios available. IIRC they require slight modifications in order to fit in the 3rd gen Firebirds.
