Why does bass keep cutting out?

Why does bass keep cutting out?

Hi, It happens at any volume,system is fairly new. It was installed at a shop,i got a bigger amp than i needed for possible future upgrades.Any ideas? Thanks Mike

What kind of amp are you running and what ohms? How hot does it get?

Id check the ground first thing. Second, make sure that the positives are to the positives and negatives are to the negatives on the speakers.

Also, check your power wire coming through the firewall and see if any metal is cutting through the wire. Also, check the wires at the back of your radio as well. Does the amp stay on when the bass cuts out, or does it go into protection mode at the same time?
