Just added these to the website tonight, we will be filming a new Youtube video tomorrow showing everything in detail. Overall makes for a really easy install with the new Kenwood DMX4710S, double din brackets and bezel. With the Kenwood DMX4710S or same size radios like the JVC KW-M590BT there are no modifications needed to the center console, larger radios will need some modifications. 1982-84 Firebird Double DIN Install Kit (Bezel & Brackets) – Screaming Chicken
Re: 1982-84 Firebird Bezels/brackets now available!!
We have the install video up on Youtube. We showed the radio fitting with no modifications or what you need to modify if you're using a different radio.
Re: 1982-84 Firebird Bezels/brackets now available!!
In addition to the Kenwood we also now have a JVC that is the same size which makes for an easy install with no modifications. The JVC is currently on sale for $269.95. JVC and Kenwood are made by the same manufacturer so they share a lot of internal parts like the chassis. The JVC is also a good quality radio, has Bluetooth and other features. We now have another radio option for 1982-84 Firebirds that will install with no modifications, the Kenwood DMX5710s. This radio is very similar to the DMX4710s except it has wireless carplay/android auto. You can stream music, answer calls, have navigation on the radio screen and other phone functions with no usb cord. In addition to that you can a reverse camera and it has 3 sets of RCA inputs for an amp. Easy install for all 3rd gens with our bezel/bracket kits, the small chassis makes it a much easier install compared to other radios. Looks like the MX4710s with a 6.8" screen and no visible buttons. I agree with a volume **** over buttons for volume, but really like any double din radio with no cutting. Used 1982-84 center consoles are crazy expensive so better to not have to do changes that can't be undone. I have an Android phone & really like using it with the radio, the radio will even reply to text messages. I don't have to look at the phone much at all, just leave it in the center console.
Re: 1982-84 Firebird Bezels/brackets now available!!
I got this setup from screaming chicken. It's awesome. Anyone w an 82-84, this is a no brainer. No cutting of the console, no problems w fitment. Came w a bunch of screws and the price was totally reasonable. It's nice to have the reverse camera in these cars, the rear visibility w/o a camera is pretty poor and the camera helps. Adds a modern feel to a very not modern vehicle. Car play and stereo work well. I never set up a the mic for hands free calls, no one's gonna hear me over the blower!
Re: 1982-84 Firebird Bezels/brackets now available!!
We now have 4 radios to choose from that are an easy (no car modifications needed) double din install for 1982-84 Firebirds. JVC and Kenwood are very similar & share the same chassis; we have 2 of each brand to choose from. The radios below both are able to use a reverse camera, have bluetooth for music streaming from a phone and can connect to a phone through a USB cable for other features. The radios below have the same features except they can connect to your phone for Apple Carplay or AndroidAuto wirelessly with no USB cable needed. They also have bluetooth and are able to use the reverse camera. JVC KW-M690BT Kenwood DMX5710S
In addition to the additional radios we also are getting more speaker and amplifier choices. We have looked into subwoofers and boxes but the shipping is crazy on those thanks to the weight. We can recommend those products, there is actually some truck boxes for 10" sub that fit well in the bottom of the trunk.
