Decided to upgrade the stereo...

Replaced the old crappy touchscreen unit with a new Eonon Adroid 13. Added a 4x75 Scar amp and Scar 6x9 speakers installed into a box in the rear. Sealed up the b-pillars and left the Pioneer 4x6 in the front. Pretty happy with the results. No, it's not going to win any contests, but sounds so much better to these 65-year-old ears.

No that’s an aftermarket. Much too large an opening for oem.

Yeah, that's a trim plate that I had 3D printed and then finished to kinda match the other trim. One last modification: covered the grills with gray speaker cloth and painted the speaker trim rings to match. Wanted it to look a little less obvious.

That is one of the cleanest installs I've seen in these. Bravo! Can you show us the underside of the panel in 6x9's are in.

Thanks! Unfortunately I didn't get any photos prior to install. I used the subwoofer box plans that I found on this forum, just added a center partition so the left and right channels wouldn't share the same space.

It’s well done. Where did you find the carpet?

Ebay. I bought enough to cover the entire back area so it would all match.https://www.ebay.com/itm/262825382780?var=564537218394

Re: Decided to upgrade the stereo...

Looks great! Nice touch with the Pontiac emblem on screen !! why did you seal up the b-pillars (I assume no speakers there now).

I use that trunk area to store our picnic food supply when we head out to the country in the Formula, as well as the T-Tops. As great as it looks, not an option for me. I may stuff a small, self contained sub back there tho, just lay it in the well. OH, BTW - welcome to Medicare!

Thanks! 99.99% of the time it's just me in the car, so I can just throw my Lil Igloo and folding chair in the back seat for the car show. I sealed up the b-pillars to block the .001 db of noise that might come through those holes ;-). FWIW, I tried one of those little powered subs; didn't work at all for me. Couldn't even hear it once the car was actually driving down the road.
