updated kickpanel pics,

Hey guys, if you remember, the only pics I had of my kickpanels were some uncovered prototypes. Finally got the film that had some production pieces developed and scanned. I updated my page accordingly.

thanks,
Wish I still had a 3rd gen so I could remake my driver side cubby hole stealth box. Seems a few people would like that setup.

DJSexay,

What size speaker were you using in the cubby-hole box?

Do you know of any BBS members in the area willing to loan you there car for a fitting? This would certainly be a hit as JL Audio doesn't seem to think the third-gens are worth their time.

It was for a 10". Had just over .6 cu ft of air space.

If anyone is near Hanover PA and wants to donate there car as the test bed, I'd be willing to let them have the box for cost of materials only.

i wouldn't mind having a setup like that as well; probably with something more around 8's though!! but it would be a good idea......you ought to just get a pannel from the junk yard, i'm sure you'll make back your money spent in no time!

It's not just the panel, but I would need to remove the plastic panel from a car, mask the quarter panel off with tape, and lay fiberglass in there to get a basic shape. Probably about 3 to 4 hours worth of work to get the form started, not including fiberglass cure time. Basically i would need a thirdgen for the weekend !

i would love to do this. I'm working on making my own version of the jl stealth box for my wife's 99 z28. With more air space then the jl one, and also a matching one for the other side. But between the stealth box, the vantage box, and the mtx thunderform, there just isn't much demand in the 4th gen world. Also, 4th gen owners don't seem to be into car audio as much as 3rd gen guys. I've seen more elaborate installs in 3rd gens then 4ths, which is why I hang out here too.

Don't know anyone personally with a 3rd gen, so no can do. sorry.

If you want to make the trip to Hanover (about 3 hours I guess), and leave one of the cars here for the weekend, then sure, I'll do it.
