Better sound by using a better amp??

Right now I have two Mtx thunder6000 10's that are rated 500 peak and 250 rms and I have a mtx thunder4250D amp that is rated at 250 watts x 1 at 2 ohms( box says 350 watts) My question was if I get a bigger amp, say mtx thunder6500D, would I get alot better sound or is it a waste of money?? thanks

With amps more amperage means louder, not necessarily better sound. There's the crap in crap out theory whcih i believe in. Yer head unit has to be up to par, if the sound comin out is bad, its gonna be amplified and made to sound worse, because thats what an amp does. The quality of the speakers also will play a small role.

if you're amp is of good quality and powerful enough to power the subs, then you wont hear much of a difference. however, by having more power, you can lower the gains a bit, making it less likely be clipped or distorted
