I just found out in the last couple weeks that a bunch of old friends of mine have started doing meth and now they are fiending for money. I found out the dude that they always hang out with breaks into cars for stereo systems all the time. I put over 2000 dollars into my system and I dont trust any of them so I am going to put on the best alarm that is made. my question is who makes it? Is viper any good? Tweakers are the scum of the earth.
Viper or Clifford would be the only ones i'd consider. But even the best alarm is no good if it is not installed by a good installer.
for example, many shops all follow the same guidelines: alarm brain under the dash by the steering wheel, alarm power cables tapped right into the batterie in plain site, alarm wires not run in factory loom .etc ...
Look around your area for a good installer. Ask them where they would pu the brain in your car, ask them what extra steps they take during an install to make the alarm that much more difficult to get around ...

I have a carbine in mine. i have to shock sensor and this summer I am adding the microwave sensor. It is so i can park with the tops off. You can't go too far wrong with an alarm. Just make sure you like the remote and it is good quality. An alarm is an alarm and just because u spend 4 times as much, it is still screams when it is triggered. just my opinion

My alarm is in my sig...it can wake up the dead when it goes off and the installer did a VERY good job of mounting the components and hiding the wires. Best of all, mine has been running with no probs for almost 10 years.
Getting an alarm to protect your investment is a good idea by itself, but you should also consider concealing your stuff (hatch area, removable face plate, etc). Also keep the car parked in open, high traffic places where a thief could be easily spotted. Believe me when I say that an alarm by itself will not stop a dope-head who is bent on getting that next fix
