Anyone have a custom sub box that replaces the rear seatback(s)??
I want to build one of these. I only want to run a single kicker 10 for now, so I'll get a box and run it while I figure out how to build a suitable enclosure that will replace the rear seatbacks and look nice. Any advice much appreciated! Especially pics and specs of the box. Thanks
i'm actually in the process of doing that right now in my 91 rs vert. i took just the lower back seats out and i'm putting in 2 mdf premade 12" boxes for my 2 12" kicker L7's and just getting getting a board, maybe some type of plywood to go across both boxes and get this 2-3" foam padding at the fabric store for the cushion with plywood on the face of it too and just cover the whole back seat to match my front seats. this serves a few purposes, now i have a bench seat back there. my subs are unnoticeble and i still have my litte trunk space.
Been there done that. Go to my website by clicking on my signature. I have four RF 12" in a 50/50 mix of fiberglass & MDF board. It pounds hard.

DAMN!!!!! After looking at that white Firebird I about creamed my pants. The designs in those cars are awesome. I thought that I was the only lunatic who tore out the back seats for a sound system. But at least I've got the best concealed job. hehehehe

Actually the graphics aren't "cheesy" in the way that they are done. That's actually airbrushed onto the car. No decals or pinstriping. Many may not like the way that it looks, but he did do a good job of implementing them.

Yup, both of them
The red one was from SBN 2001 in Daytona and the white one was from 1997 IASCA Finals

Yeah, that's doughboy's car from over on the carsound forums.
don't think you insulted anyones taste, was just clarifying to anyone who took it as "that's a cheesey effects job". Everyone has their own personal taste. I can't say as I like it that much either, but it's done well.
He also did a nice job cleaning up the body by shaving the door handles and setting up the ASC ram air hood. (not sure if I have a pic of the front end or not)
