-={ Stripped Kenwood screws }=-

I was removing my eXcelon Z919 from my current '86 SC to get ready to put it in my new '87 IROC but I couldn't get it out because the removal screws were stripped. I had to take off the console trim, then take off the DIN mounting piece, then bend in all those little prongs that hold the metal mounting piece in. After all that I was able to get it out.

Granted I got it out, but does anyone know how I could get the actual head unit out of the mounting piece before I have to install it in my new car ¿

Is the head of the screw stripped, or the screwhole itself?

Bend all the prongs down flat.

Slide the deck into your dash kit.

With a small pick or screwdriver, bend the prongs back up.

Screw the dash kit into the car.

Doesn't really get the stripped screws fixed...but you'll be able to install it.
