Where do you mount the x-over's?

If I get djsexy's kickpanels, where should I mount the crossovers? do they have to be as close to the speaker as possible? Can I put it behind the kickpanel?

I doubt you'll have room behind the kick panels. In my firebird I installed them above the passenger foot area. The first time, I double-back taped the x-over to the computer. Bad idea. SES light came on and the car ran like hell. After that I moved it to a different area up there. In my IROC I didn't want that mess up there, so I mounted them in the back near my amps and ran separate wires for the mids and tweets. Works like a champ.

just tie strap them above the foot area to an existing wiring harness, and drop the leads down to the speakers. reinstall the plastic underneath the dash, and there ya go.

I don't reccomend keeping it real close to other wires. There's a chance that you can get interference problems from the field created by the inductors. Like I said, when I had it piggy-backed to my computer, I had all sorts of problems.

I'm thinking about mounting them under the dash pad where the old speakers went. YOu might have to extend the wiring a little bit though. Just a thought ~ Arnold
