dont worry bout the amps. your startin off on the right foot. I had my 6 disc changer in the Rear Locking Compartment, as well as a custom camaro box that fit down into the trunk well. I suggest making an amp rack out of wood that sits a good 2 - 3"s above the gas tank, then whenever you want the Ttops off, just slide them under the amps!?

I assume this is your first system? First Car?

..only thing i can suggest is that you buy quality equipment

list some of the brands youre thinking of getting, and people will tell you what they think cuz one guy 'knows what works, and what doesnt work in our cars and why it does or doesnt work'. Talk to him, Jim85Iroc

The only problem with that is there will be no room to operate a rear hatch cover.

First off, decide on what type of sub(s) you want. Next decide on what type of amp you need for power. Then work on how you want it installed in the hatch. There are alot of good pictures of setups on the site you could look at...or ask around for some more opinions.

im thinking put the amp rac near the back seat abouve the ttops, there it would have room for the hatch to close, and the ttops, ive had bad luck leaving my ttops at home, my car has been rained on twice with them off

Well I wouldn't risk not haveing the t-tops then.. Thats an Idea.. Angle the amps on the back seats... make sure not to drill in to the gas tank..

That would look nice for show.. and room for tops..

i just said 2-3" so he got the picture..

PUKKA - i also dont have a rear hatch cover, i did, but i took that thing off and put 5% tint on that SOB window, cost a god damn arm and a leg but looked ****ing sweet!

You should just build a box and mount your amps on the box itself.

You'd be stuck with just one 12" bass, but 2 of them will only get you another 3 Db or so (doubling the surface area of any speaker gives a 3Db gain)

Check out what I did and you'll see what I mean:

That is a PPI 4240, Rockford Punch 160, and the crossovers for a Diamond 4" component set.
They are sitting on a JL 12W0-4 in a sealed enclosure with the recommended volume size by JL.

It doesn't look all that pretty, but it sounds very good and is out of my way. The rear window shade hides it all too, and my amps never overheat because they have pleanty of room on top.

Thomas.
