Lots of distortion at high volume....will an amp fix this????

My current setup is: JBL CD player, and nice Pioneers for all four speakers (can't remember the models). When I turn the volume up, it sounds like crap - lots of distortion. Will installing an amp fix this? Also, will an amp help my setup at all volume levels? Thanks in advance.

I would say most definately. Get a nice 4 channel 50 watt per channel (RMS) amp. It'll make an enourmous difference.

An amp would definately help. You might want to look into getting a better deck too.

Careful!! Purchasing amps for you system has been known to lead to more compulsive audio buys such as subs, EQs, and caps.

Buyer beware!!!

MOST DEFFINATELY.

I started with head unit. Then the speakers(all 4)... then an amp...then a sub... then an EQ... then another sub... next all new wires, Stinger twisted RCA's new power supply, power block, and ground wires and a cap. Then start working on a ported box for the subs(and maybe a sub upgrade) Maybe a new amp or 2 is in the future as well.... DAMN CAR STERIO!!!!!!!!
