Music will stop for a second... and come back on... CD Player??

I noticed this sometimes before I put my new amp and sub in. But yesterday I was going to the soccer fields to kick with a bunch of friends... I pulled in and had it turned up so they could hear me when I came in... and the music stopped for like half a second... then came back on.. did it again... then again... I just turned it down and parked real quick... I've noticed it doing this lately when I hit a bump hard... or go over railroad tracks... or even when I shut my console kinda hard... **I've checked the amps as soon as I got outta the car today... they weren't hot...** Could my cd player wires be coming loose? All the speakers are running off of amps so should I check my RCA cables? I used to not have this problem... The head unit is almost a year old... so is this a good excuse to take my cd player back and get a better one?

**Warranty @ Circuity City = :lala: **

The problem is not in your wires its the CD player itself. When you hit a bump or just do something to give the player a sudden shock it will skip. Some brands are more sensitive to this kind of thing. Try to loosen your CD player up a bit , pud some paddings around it.
Hope this helps!

Might I suggest exchanging for an Alpine. Since I got mine it has never skipped on me once. My Kenwood didn't skip much but it would sometimes. I think your problem is the Sony. John

I had that same problem with a Pioneer head unit(POS). It would shut off, sometimes come right back on, sometimes I would have to hit it to get it back on. It was the main power wire in the unit going to the circuit board, Best Buy had to sodder it to get it working.

Yeah... I'd go there... but I want something with a warranty... and since I'm taking this one back on the warranty then I get store credit... so I gotta stay there

If you do a search, I think you might be able to find a poll on the best head unit. I think it was a couple weeks back or so.

Go and play with the Alpine CDM7874 you'll be a very happy man! And it's $199.99 at Circuit City.
