Im going to have a custom box made for my rear well, and I was thinking of going with just one twelve, since i already have a good system right now. I was thinking of going with a rockford power hx2 12" that handles 2000W max, what kinda box would i need to support that? should I go inverted or mount it regularly?
P.S. hey jim, what would you charge to build a single 12" enclosure with an amp rack? thanks

The rockford can work in a sealed or ported enclosure. I don't recall off the top of my head what enclosure sizes it likes, but I do remember the ported enclosure being much larger than the sealed one. Rockford's sealed box reccomendation seemed a bit small to me. I've got some 10" HE2s that I put into a sealed enclosure. I built the box a little bigger than Rockford reccomended and they're still sorta sloppy sounding, but not as boomy as in the smaller enclosure.
Anyway, with the HX2 I'd say you could run it regular or inverted. My HE2s have ugly stamped steel baskets so I wouldn't invert them, but the HX2 has a nice cast basket and a huge magnet.
I'm hesitant to do an amp rack. When I redo the website that stuff is coming off. The problem is, it's really impossible for me to make the amp rack without having the amp. Give me an email and we can discuss it further.

I have a custom box that I had built a few years ago I don't need anymore. It has 2 12" holes and is pre wired. Also it is fiberglass sealed inside. I't not real light so It wouldn't be worth shipping probably. It cost mea around $250
Lovbyts2,
How much would you be willing to part with your box for? I'm not too far away and I've been shopping around for one. Couple of questions first: what type of box is it? what's the volume? is there an amp rack on it already?

It is the box only, no speakers or amp. It was custom built to drop into the hole in the back. Make me an offer. Like I said, when I had it built it cost me around $250 and yes that was without speakers. I'm not in need of it anymore so I will let it go cheap to a good home.
lovbyts,
Right, but is it sealed, ported, or bandpass? And do you know what the volume(cubic centimeter displacement, if you want) is? I need to know to tell if it is the right box for the subs I would be putting into it.
