What brand are you using? What are the specs on them (power ratings and such)? How much were they? How do you like them? Thanks.

I have personally have Infinity Reference 4x6 plate. They have good highs and pretty well never distort off any usable deck power you through at them. It think they are rated @ 40 or 50W RMS. They were around $200 Canadian Coin so i don't know how much it would cost you?? Actaully thinking of selling them and just putting Infinity Components into some DJ kicks instead. Oh ya some modification to car may be required. Huge magnet for size of speaker.

I've had:

Yamaha 4x6's - They blew up, though they were in the car when I bought it.

Polk 4x6's - Sounded pretty good, but the magnet was way to big and I got sick and g0d-damned tired of tightening it down, besides, the drivers side speaker was on a slant.

Pioneer TS-G4647 4x6's - There the brand new kind, but my *** they sucked so horribly bad I couldn't stand it. High Point: The magnet fit.

Infinity Reference 4652cfp - Just got um, were on sale at Circut City..... $94 (Came to $101.32 with tax ), I LOVE THESE.... independent Tweeter makes all the difference aparently. The drivers side speaker doesn't fit in perfect, but, the magnet is no where near as big as the polks were, so it fits in well enough for now until I bust out the dremel. But these are great.... can't say enough good things about them, haven't gotten um to distort yet (I do have Rockford Fosgate Base Blockers on um though, and that helps alot.)

So, there you have it My speakers in order of how I've had um.

I agree w/ Pioneers, I have them all around and they sound great. They don't make the TSA-4615 anymore, though. Make sure you spring for ones that have the butyl surround (TSA-4667, $110), or even better, the TS-P462, which have a high pass filter built in. Those run about $150.

Be carefull with plate speakers, I tried to use a set of infinitys on my 85 but didn't fit due to the off center mounting possition of the magnet . Make sure you have enough space for the magnet of the driver side speaker. Good luck

i had a set of infinity kappa 4x6s. they were good for what they were, tiny speakers. thats the only problem. they are so small that they can barely put out the mids. thats why everyone and there cousin are switching to kickpanel setups. i've got a 3-way set of Crystals comps that blow away any 4x6 and cost little more. if you've got the time and $50, you can make your own kicks. if not, i had no problem dropping the kappas in. one the best 4x6s ive ever heard

I have the cerwin vega 4x6's and I will never go back. I gave them 50 watts each and man they shake my dashbord with bass, and I can't trun them all the wayup because they hurt my ears too much. GET THEM...they rock and are pretty cheap.
