Neither is a particularly good amp. I'd stick with quality stuff from companies like Kicker ZR, Rockford Punch, PPI, Orion XTR, etc. Your money gets you an amp rated at a lot less power, but in reality you're getting much better stuff that will get a whole lot louder than the rated wattage would indicate.

with my experience, you could buy a amp that advertisies a nice amount of power.... but thats peak, and it will prolly distort like all hell.... when you buy sterio equipment, you ALMOST ALWAYS get what you pay for....

if you want to be loud and obnoxious, buy the cheap stuff... but if you want to be loud and sound good, and enjoy listening to your music, go out and pay for the good stuff... it is definately worth it.

and dont "jerry rigg" anything... make sure you do it right, because if you fry your electrical system in your car, its more than just the sterio your gonna have to replace.

Same situation with subs. Your amp has more to do with how loud you get than your subs, so shoot for sound quality here, especially considering the low power that I'm guessing you'll be feeding them.

Stay away from these high-excursion subs with the big fat surrounds and huge magnets. These things can get seriously loud.... with gross amounts of power. On modestly powered systems, they will not get as loud as a more conventional style sub. Those high excursion subs have very low sensitivity ratings due to their high mass structures. Something like a JL W6 sub, an Oz 300L or any one of hundreds of more traditional, non-small box designs will generally offer higher sensitivity and still be capable of producing useful output through the capabilities of your amp.

Again, shoot for quality over quantity. A single 12" sub with an amp such as a Kicker ZR240 or Rockford 360a2 will pound hard and is capable of sounding quite good. When you get more money down the road, it's cheaper to add 1 more good sub than it is to upgrade both cheap ones.

Definately go with quality. I got a simple Alpine 50x2 V12 running at 2-ohms (actual output about 140w per channel), and the sound quality is outstanding through my two Infinity Kappa 10"s. Plus this setup (through a sealed enclosure in the hatch) can play painfully loud; probably not breaking any SPL records, but way more than anyone would need for SQ. The Infinity's I got only because a friend of mine sold them dirt cheap(baby on the way), but for new, I'd go JL, Kicker, or MTX.

From what I seen from Audiobahn most of thier stuff is for competition and priced accordingly.
If you have a budget and your main concern is some thing that sounds good "non competition" I can reccomend the jensen LXA300. This 300watt amp is cheap 115$ US and the specs are "very" impressive. I would say its as good or better than any name brand 300watt amp under 500$
This is the "only" Jensen component I reccomend so you might look into it.

as the others have said, you do get what you pay for, always check around on ebay they have alot of companies with overstock selling for usually half price (most have the buy it now feature), also when buying a system I personally prefer to buy matching amps and subs right now i have 2 12" mtx 3000 thunder 450w being pushed by a bridged 325w mtx pro blue thunder amp at 4 ohms (im only using 150w W/ 4ohm) it sounds good and pounds hard just because it is matching
