About sub enclosures.......

I made my own boxes to fit in the hatch. Each are about 17" x 10" x 12". The cubic feet comes to about 1.18. I have the 10" Kenwood Tornadoes. The box is sealed right now. Do you think I should put some ports in it? If so, where?

Are the subs designed for ported enclosures? If so, you need to find out what size enclosure and what size port.

They recommend the subs for ported and sealed boxes. The sealed boxes should have 1.0 cubic feet per sub. The ported boxes should have 1.1 cubic feet per sub.

My box is 34 x 12 x 10. It's a pretty tight fit between the glass and back seat. It has 2- 10" subs. I found out the actual cubic feet for each sun is 0.92 ft^3. So look for subs accordingly. Hope this helps!

I like my bazooka tube, it sounds great and fits perfect in the rear well.

I got a little turoial on the stereo part of my page. Im using a $150 box i got from circuit city, and its a dual 12 sealed. Whats great is that they fire against my window, and deflect towards me. Personly, i think sealed boxes are better due to the fact that sometimes the ported box's tubes create the distorted air effect and its annoying.

In my opinion I'd stay with the sealed box. You could go with the vented box and you'd gain a few more dBs, but you'd loose some clarity. Also, your box is closer to the size for a sealed box. But, if you want I can point you to some sites to calculate the vent size.
