Would this work ok?

I just finished installing my MTX subs and amp today in my 92 'maro. The wiring kit that I had bought supposedly had an o type terminal to hook up to the battery side posts. Well, it would not go on with that. I looked at a bunch of connectors I have lying around from past projects, and couldn't find anything that would mount on the battery without problems. I ended up mounting the amp power cable to a distribution block that comes next to the battery from factory. Will this be a problem? It works, but I would think that the subs are not gonna work up to its potential, and that I am compromising the power on all the other components. What did you guys use to hookup your power cable?

I would just buy extended battery terminals. I ran a power wire to the input terminal on my celenoid on my pickup and beleived it would lead to potential danger.

Lots of companies like Monster Cable make accessories such as battery posts for this application. This is the route to go. You spent a lot of money, time and effort on your system, why jerry rig it and risk problems down the road? Yeah, they are a bit expensive, but in the end it pays off with not having to worry about it. Never compromise the vehicle itself to install aftermarket stereo equipment. After all, you bought a car to drive it, not to be a listening room ;-)

Seriously though, amps need a good steady power supply directly from the battery, and a solid ground to the chassis to work trouble free.
