82 T-A Cd Player??
Yes, the kit is the best way to go, just get a good one, no Radio Shack. Try Metra, you can get one of these from a car stereo installation place for about 15 bucks. Because of the shallow mounting depth of stock radios on GM cars, they always look kinda funny, because they are spaced out so far. I would pick up a wiring harness too, so you don't have to cut your factory wiring. They are about 15 bucks, but worth every penny, since you don't damage your original wiring, you can make all your splices out of the car on a workbench, and if you ever sell the vehicle, you can simply unplug the CD unit, and plug the stock unit right back in.

unfortunately, the kid with the car before me was a moron. oh yes, he did buy the wiring harness, but he decided to cut the stock harness where the speaker wires connect and crimped them to the sony harness. grrr.....
isn't the 83 cd-player the one that rotated? im sure a 1.5 din will fit also.
coalyard is right, get a wiring harness and it makes everything easier. And you wont have to try and figure what wires are the right ones.
