Should I replace this amp and sub?

I had an MTX RT2120 amp and MTX T6104 sub stolen out of my car a while back. They were in the car when I bought it, so I didn't go through the research as far as deciding what amp/sub combo to use. I do know that I was pretty happy with it though. I'm wondering if I should replace them with an identical set, or can I do better for the money, or do the same for less money? What might some better options be?

Ok, so I was just checking their website for info on the amp and sub. I found the specs on the sub, but looks like either they don't make the amp anymore, changed model numbers, or I got the model number wrong. Anyways, you all probably get the point of my question.

look at some of the MTX car audio products at Crutchfield.com
Maybe you'll see someother brand you may like, and they also have a outlet store in VA if you ever go a little bit north.

The only problem is that they don't sell Alpine stuff

P.S. Stay away from Sony ...

i bought a used MTX blue thunder amp off eBay for $70 shipped. this thing went for $300+ 3 or so years ago. they build pretty tough amps, so i wouldnt worry too much about a used one. i push mine beyond recommended limits (doing 2 ohms bridged) and this thing doesnt even blink.

from my experience the amps are ok, but the subs are total ****. just my opinion though. :-) I'd look at some infinity references,or Rockford DVC's. they are gonna be a little bit more but are all VERY good for the $$ I had an reference and now I have JL's, for a "budget" sub I don't personaly think you could do better.

my friend has a subaru wagon with a 12" MTX thunder 5000 in a bandpass box with an MTX280 amp and it SLAMS. my other friend has a 15 MTX thunder 300 in a sealed box in his car with a boss amp and it sounds pretty nice too. I am pretty impressed with MTX.

I have a thunder 7000 12" sub and never liked it until I put 800 watts on it. I have a RT 2600 amp and it sounds pretty good now. But for the money I paid I could have had a really nice sub (not saying the mtx isn't) But something that would have sounded good on less power.
