$80 is pretty cheap. i believe Jim used to sell them??? an good inexpensive one would cost around $100-150. if you go to a stereo shop and get a good custom one made, you're now around the $200-300 range.

yea.. the price i mostly get for custon boxes when i ask is normally 150-175 depending on the wood and the quality of the box

 

the box in the pic doesnt look like mdf, it just looks like cheap particle board. they areon ebay if anyone wants to look at them and maybe tell what it is made out of. they are 79.99 with free shipping. i need a good box, but i dont know where to get one for a good price.tia

It is all about what is most important to you, Jim makes real nice boxes, probably the best I have seen, but it costs alot to have those made. You could go the cheaper route on e-Bay, but you get what you pay for, and you probably won't get as nice a box as you would through Jim.

 

if you want great products for cheap, give don a try, i just recieved my sub box from him, made of 3/4 MDF cut for 2 10's already carpeted, came with ports cut, but covered with fabric, i will try and post pictures by the end of the week, and to think i got it for $60 + $20 (shipping, thing weighs about 15-20 lbs.)
