how do i change metering rods?

how do i change metering rods?

I think one of the rods is sticking in my stock qjet carb. I have an 84 trans am 305ho. how difficult is this to do and how much? I would need step by step instructions, thanks.

1. Open the hood.
2. Remove your aircleaner nut.
3. Remove your aircleaner lid, ducting, and housing.
4. On top of the carb, between the secondary bores, you will see the hanger. It has a small screw holding it in place. Remove the screw.
5. Lift the hanger off the carb and the secondary metering rods will come out with it.



BTW - why do think they would be sticking?

also ther is a sensor on the left and right of the carb, the driver side is the tps but what is the other one, mixture control?

Yup, that's your mixture control solenoid.
