How Much Would A Shop Charge to Tune My Carb???

OK, I am 200 miles away from home right now and will be leaving in 2 days. My car has started to run rough (sputters when I accelerate) and I know my carb needs tuning anyways. Where I am at right now shops don't charge alot for service, I was wondering what they might charge to tune my carb. possibly changing rods and jets.

This is what they might charge if nothing needs rebuilt.

It depends on exaclty what needs to be done. Just an adjustment anywhere from 0-30$ that means just turn some screws over. there sno way someone could justify more than a .5 for this. Now If you carn needs rebuilt 50$ for the kit and 1.5 for the rebuild.
My friend payed a shop 200$ to have them tune his edelbrock I would have told them where to stick it, but it did include jet/rod change so ehh. Of course I could have done it for free.

Well I replace the fuel filter and sprayed carb cleaner. It seems to have helped a little, I think I am just going to try and make it home and have someone look at there that doesn't charge much.

IIRC edelcrock carbs don't have a PV in 'em. Everything is pure mechanical or airflow sesnitive. Thus, the odds that a carb problem is causing you to run rough all of a sudden doens't seem likely, unless something broke or got a serious boogie in it (possible, but just not likely)
I'd check all the basics and be looking for either shot tune up parts or something in the distributor that isn't right.

I believe it would definitly be under $100 for a rebuild lower for lower end places but the maximum should not be over 100.
