gas line??

Where I work I got a mechanic to sell me a rebuilt holley 4150 600 double pumper and he put it on and tuned it for $100. But there is a problem. The gas line and the line for the carb meet each other and there is no way to put a filter on. And I live on a dirt road so I have to have a filter. Right now I have the gas line ran in a circle with my filter on it, and it doesn't work good. I keep getting vapor locks. What should I do about it. IF anyone could help it would be much appreciated. If anyone could show me pictures that would be great.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by that. Try to describe exactly what your setup looks like right now - where the inlet and outlet lines come from and go to, how they get there. What fuel pump are you running? Do you still have the in-tank pump, and if so, is it running? Fuel pressure regulator? Etc.

The Fuel pump is in the front of the engine on the passengers side and the line runs up right beside my alternator. The holley double pumper has a dual feed fuel line and the two lines meet each other with about an inch inbetween them. Right now I ran the rubber hose in a circle with me fuel filter in it. The hose lays on my heater hose and on the manifold. It's just laying there flopping around, and I need to change it. I thought I would reroute the fuel line from the pump and put it on the passengers side and figure out a way to get rid of the dual feed fuel line from the card and run a hose from each one and split it into a Y. But I can't find a piece that looks like a Y that I can hose clamp the hoses to. Anyone seen a Y piece. Please tell me where. Or If you have any other bright ideas, please tell. I want to move that fuel line away from my alternater anyway. so I will probably re-route the fuel line from the fuel pump. I also thought of turning the dual feed fuel line on the carb so it was facing the fire wall and then make a 180 degree angle and run the hose back the other way to the line off of the pump, and put my filter in that hose. I figured that would work if I had enough room between my firewall and the fuel line off the carb. What do you think. It probably sounds confusing and went through one ear and out the other without touching your brain. But hopefully you understood it.
