CFM means Cubic Feet per Minute..it's the standard unit used to quantify flow of air.
Opinions on the stock Q jet CFM vary because it depends greatly on how far the secondaries open, which vary from carb to carb depending on model, setup, and tuning.
Personally I say it's not any more then 650cfm.

It's actually 800 CFM but only if the secondary air door opens a full 90*. Most of them stop at about 75* in that era. Usually it's as simple as filing down the stop on the side to get full opening although some carbs will bind up the tension spring beyond 80* (the last 5-10* you will feel a considerable increase in tension).
A 4bbl carb's CFM rating is measured at defined temp and barometric pressures and with a 1.5" vacuum applied under the carb to draw air through. 2bbl carbs are measured in the same way but with 3.0" of vacuum applied.
