ck and b?

Hi, I have a 350 with a performer intake, GM iron heads, XE262 cam, 8.7 compression (help here, its one of those 270hp replacement 350's) and a qjet on top obviously, so, are ck rods and a b hanger gunna be too much for me? i plan on either getting some alum L98 heads or maybe vortec heads (some suggestions there would be nice too ) later. so, these rods hangar gunna be too much for me?

What rods and hangers are you talking about?

SIGH. 270 horse?!! bahh,
I have the same buildup.

I knew I've driven faster cars.

Anyway, I am trying the same combo tomorrow, going from F Hanger CH Rods, so I'll post what happens.

d0H! me drop da rod into da carb. (assuming moronic voice)

later,

OK the F hanger and CH rods are out, and the CK rods and B hangers are in.

The difference?

A noticeable power increase past 3500+ RPM once the cam (XE262) hits peak torque, louder, deeper "droning" noise coming from the open air element.

Quicker throttle response, although I thought this increase was more subtle than the mid-upper rpm power increase.

The differences overall were noticable, but not huge. For the price, and simplicity, a mod that should be one of the first things that you do.

Later,
Hype.

I'm running DR's on a B with the combo in the sig. Also open element (for now).

Couldn't be happier.

B hanger and DR rods. I like it (though for the heck of it, I might experiment with AU or CKs with the B and/or G hanger).

Try the CK's with a B. My L69 seems to like those a lot (and so do I!)
