As I have said many times in past posts... eBay is a perfect place to find this stuff. Q-jets Range from $25-$50 in conditions from mint to needs-rebuiding to total junk. You could purchase a professionally rebuilt one for $75.

My experience:
I searched a little while and found an auction labeled "'79 Q-jet Cadillac #xxxxxxx"
I don't remember the number, but it ran through as a '79 vette carb! so, $30 later (shipping included) I had a carb that only needed some new gaskets. ($20 rebuild kit)

In your case, you will want a carb made for 82-87 F-bodies, I know all pontiac and chevy carbs are fine... probably all the others too, but I've heard some Olds. carbs aren't direct hook ups...

if you want to be sure you're getting a good carb, you should think about ordering a professionally rebuilt one from almost any auto parts store. it's just like buying a brand new qjet, except...well, it's made out of an old qjet. all you need to do is adjust the choke, fuel/air mix, and fast idle. i got a professionally rebuilt one for my car a while back, and i gained about 10 more horsepower over the old one.

You could try a Q-jet from an '84 or'85
Caprice w/305. The one I have ran great when I removed it, and it looks just like the one on my '83Z.

IROCZ28TPI says he has an L69 carb for sale. You can't have the air cleaner, though.

Hey 57, it sounds like you finally found a dual snorkel! Great news!

(I find that they clean up quite well in the electric dishwasher. Do it when she ain't around and don't tell her I said so )

In the latest Super Chevy they have a pic of a yellow 39 Chevy from Littleton, Colorado. Seen it?

I sure hope so. Heading for the post office shortly.

I called Year One, and they have cancelled the driver's side intake scoop - no replacement available. Everything else is available, though.

As for the '39, I haven't seen that issue of Super Chevy, and don't recall seeing a car like that. The city of Littleton isn't that big, but the address "Littleton" includes a lot of unincorporated area, population in the hundreds of thousands, including both my address and that Columbine place everybody heard about a couple of years ago.

I do know the guy that had his red '65 Impala SS on the cover of Hot Rod earlier this summer. There's a case of more money than sense. But, he's alright, anyway.
