no pull with secondaries open

hello... i've set my a/v tension to about nothing ..soo that i get a huge bog when i mash it................(on purpose) now ..on my monte when i do this.... it bogs super bad ..and then SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMM!!!!!!...you get shoved in the back seat.............when i adjust it like that on my camaro... nothing ..it just bogs ..and goes on as normal...

adjusted for testing purposes....


whats the deal..?? i mean i used to hear all the air SUCKING ....in the monte.. but not in the camaro.... it just seems like the motor is reving high ..and thats it .. no pull...


any suggestions...... the lockout tang is removed also...and i have the choke wired open....dual snorkel....

You're probably experiencing the differences between the choke pull-offs, since they also affect AV opening.

Just adjust it the way it's supposed to be, and don't worry about it.

ok ok ok ............ ill put it back..... its just ... the car doesnt give you that ...feeling ..like its pulling ...more like your just coasting ...AT WOT..

Your rods and hanger may be on the lean side as well.

My car felt similar to what you are describing. My problem turned out to be the timing. The lighter springs in my distributor were allowing the weights to swing out while at idle. So when I set my base timing it was already advanced and no additional advance was available at higher rpm. This made it feel dead above ~3500 rpm. Just mentioning this to give you another possibility to rule out. Make sure your total timing is reaching ~32-36 degrees by 2800 rpm. Makes all the difference!

GOOD POINT..!!! I HAVE A CURVE KIT..... i just used the stock weights and center peice...but used the LIGHTEST SPRINGS POSible.........

ill check it out..............................
