For those looking for TV cable brackets after carb/manifold swaps.

TCI makes a throttle and TV cable bracket for AFB/Performer and Quadrajet carbs, P/N 376700. It looks like much better quality than the crappy chrome plated ones from Spectre, etc. It's made from heavy stamped steel with a gold iridite finish and it's held on by both rear carburetor mounting bolts so it won't twist around or bend during use. I picked one up on the weekend to try it out but haven't put it on the car yet.

TCI also has a bracket for Holley carbs which looks similar if not identical to Holley's own bracket.

Apeiron- That is a good looking bracket. What are you going to use it on? What is the price in $US? I'd like to know if it'll work
with a Q-jet of late 70's/early 80's vintage on a Performer SBC
manifold and a 200-4r. Please post comments on it after you get it installed

Summit lists it for $24.95. I've got a Performer RPM and a Performer carb on the car to try it with, but I've got a couple of Quadrajets I could try too.

Ok, I finally had half a chance to see how it would work on the car yesterday. It was -4 and a little windy so I didn't spend too long playing with it.

On the car right now I've got a Performer RPM Qjet intake with a Performer/AFB carb, and it doesn't fit well with that combination. The piece running across the back is dropped to clear the vacuum brake port on the back of the carb, but it interferes with the runners on the intake. If I was running a carb spacer or adapter it would probably fit better. I'm going to try to raise it a little with some longer carb studs in the back and extra nuts, hopefully it will clear without messing up the TV geometry too much. Even if I can raise it, it's still going to interfere with the manifold vacuum port on the intake but fortunately all I have plugged in there is my vacuum gauge.

I've got kind of mixed feelings about it now, it's a sturdy well-made piece but it's got some pretty serious fitment issues. I've got some spare stock manifolds and Quadrajets in the garage, I'll see how it looks with them too next weekend.

I wish I would have seen this post before I ordered. My initial impression was the same as yours. Now I think that TCI is making import parts and the sent me a Honda alternator bracket or something cause this thing is gonna take major grinding and drilling to make it work!

Edelbrock, as well as specre, has been making these brackets for years. You can most likely find them in your local parts shop for around $10-$15. Edelbrock uses that same blueing finish (or anodizing, I can't tell) while spectre makes theirs in chrome plate. They are universal mount, meaning they mount where the sock one did and both have provisions for TV cables. It seems the wiser of the choices to go with the cheaper part in this case.

I've got mine on my car now, it didn't require any modification. I used extra-long carb studs and an extra nut to mount it, but I had to use the outer mounting hole in the manifold on the driver's side and wedge the bracket behind the stud in the inner mounting hole on the passenger side. The TV cable geometry is pretty good at least. I had to use a flush plug in the vacuum port on the manifold too.
