new to carbs? intake question?

Ok, I am currently running a tpi system. I will be changing to carb.

I bought a used holley 750vc 4160. I is dual feed and the zinc plated version. Not trying to be stupid, but what can I do to get more performance out of it later down the road? For the record I got it for 125 bucks. The guy had ran it just at the track for 1 or 2 seasons, so it has very few miles on it and he bought it new.

Also which single plane intake with a range of 2000-2500 to 6500-7000 will fit under my stock camaro hood. I am looking at the short Team-G intakes, maybe the xcelerator, or maybe a edelbrock torkerII. Oh yeah, I will be getting dart heads, so the intake will not be for the L98 heads.

thanks for any advice. And for the record I did do a search on the inake.

Unless you're building a race-only car, you probably want to stay away from single-plane intakes. Take a look at Stealth or RPM manifolds.

I've never heard anything good about the Torquer II from anyone but Edelbrock.

He did'nt have a stall in the sig, but if it's at least a 2800 he might be able to pull it off with a single plane, I've been toying with my ddyno and once I up the compression to 9.8:1 the single plane will up my hp & tq by 10 starting at 3500, I will be switching my 3500 stall to a 4500 for next season to get into my peak torque however.
Although, if he'd get a rpm performer based dual plane I think it'd work better as a package from low revs up to redline or shift point. Kinda contridicting myself I guess.

I am running the Victor Jr. Vortech intake and an 700R4 with 2800 stall and there is no problem driving it on the street. If the Demon 850 had a choke it would be easier starting some days.

I will be going with a 3000 stall, and it will be a street/strip motor.
It will also be a 383 or 406. I have access to both blocks, so it I will have to make a decision.

Looks like I will be selling the complete motor. It runs good and is mostly stock except for a few bolt ons and a ported and polished plenum. Looks like I will not be getting rid of it till spring though.

Well, I scored a almost new 7525 from a guy for 75 bucks. It should fit under my stock hood with the 4160 and a drop base air filter. It pulls from 2000-6500. On the intake it says Team-G, but it comes up under stealth on the website
