Can someone rebuild my carb? Or should I try myself?
Can someone rebuild my carb? Or should I try myself?
Can any of you CC Q-jet gurus, rebuild me my carb with a kit in it? My peformance is really getting bad, idleing high, all kinds of crap, I dont think the secondaries even open. They are sticky. I just wanna rebuild. Or does anyone know where I can get an OE replacement for cheap? Thanks

how far are you from b,ham?, i have a shop up here and can rebuild it for you....or help you find someone who can......or you can pick up a Q-jet book from a place like seco performance and give it a try your self...be glad to help just let me know.
Buying a kit and rebuilding a carb was the first "technical" auto repair that I tried. It wasn't a quadrajet, but the job wasn't all that hard. Just made sure I had a large clean work area so I didn't lose anything. I learned a lot and say go for it as long as you've got no rush.
is $75 fair? I have rebuilt a lot of them in the past mostly on mairne applications, the Q-jet on a boat is tricked out a little more than ones in a car. we can do a few tricks on your carb to add a little better response. just let me know if you want to bring your car to b'ham i will rebuild it for you. you can call my shop# 205-602-6260, my name is Walter.......thanks
p.s. i'm still building on my new shop, may be after Christmas befor i could get to it, just give me a call....thanks again
