I bought an edelbrock 600 cfm carb yesterday (1406 model) the carb I have now is a cc rochester quadrajet with electric choke...The edelbrock also has an electric choke but no where to plug the other 2 wires in because its not computer controlled, can I just keep these wires detatched and hide them or would something not work right??? please help because I wanna put it on today

no, you can't, the distributor timming is controlled but the computer which gets some of the data it needs from the carb. (I.E.--throttle position), and if you have an automatic with overdrive then the lockup in the tranny will not work.

if you want to switch to a non computer carb then you will have to replace the dist. and come up with a way to lockup the torque converter manually.

did you drive the car after unhooking the carb? I'll bet the performance is WAY down because the timming won't advance.
