using L69 carb on Lg4

I just got a carb from an 84 L69. It is computer controlled. Will this work with my LG4? What adverse effects will this have,if any?

thanks

Secondary metering rods are different as well a hangar, you can make the changes on your LG4 carb to be the same as the L69, it is I believe only Secondary changes.

Is the L69 going to use more gas, less gas, cause a stumble or any other flubs. Will I need to change the metering rods or run with them?

The L69 Carb is a good piece, most people go with metering rods alittle richer. I am currently upgrading to DR Rods and B Hangars, most people say tha is the best well rounded rods fo that little extra juice. Myself having a High alt/Cali carb would definatly appreciate the added fuel.

Go for it, it won't cause a mileage change as most of the fuel load is in the secondary's

The carb is the same on the primary side. Only the secondary side is different. The L69 carb I swapped onto mine came with DR rods and a G hanger as opposed to the CH rods and L hanger on the LG4 piece. It also uses a quicker choke pull-off. One more thing to note, the LG4 secondary air-valve only opened about 55-60* on the LG4, and opened about 80* on my L69. Basically this all translates to better WOT performance and quicker throttle response to WOT transition. It should also help if not solve most bog concerns.

You will notice a significant performance increase - assuming the L69 carb is in decent shape. No idle, part throttle, or emissions problems should occur due to the primary side being identical. The only time you'll use more gas is when the secondaries open!

More info

I pulled the L69 carb out of the box today and looked at the hanger and rods. It is a K hanger and CH rods. Being a total carb idiot (I do know where they go and how to bolt them on!), is this a good combination for a rebuilt but stock 305?

I know a little more about Holleys and Nothing about CC qJets.

K hanger and CH rods? Sounds like a regular LG4 carb to me. ALL L69s got the DR rods, with a few different hangers.
