600 cfm carb... chokin and studdering
ok put on a edelbrock 600 cfm carb... and off the start the car kinda stutters and stumbles... from like idle to 1500 rpm... like i hit the gas and it will start to go off nice and slow studderin a bit... but from 2000 to 5000 she really starts to scream and has great throttle performance in that area.... does anyone know what i need to do to tune this up... what screws do i need to be turnin... i just cant seem to get it right... does my electric choke need to be turned more lean or what.. ??? any ideas would help thx

If your engine makes 15" or more vacuum at idle then just step up to stronger metering rod springs. You might also want to step up the pump shot arm too.

You also want to make sure you hooked the vacuum advance to the right port on the carb. Youre gonna want ported vacuum as opposed to manifold. Just an idea. Every Carter or Edelbrock ive ever had bolted on with no problems at all. They are the best street carb in my opinion, with the exception of a properly tuned CC Q-Jet.
